Shilpa Shetty’s wedding preparations have kicked off by a private engagement party but Sangeet, she assures would be a lavish affair at Khandala.

She has zeroed in on friend-choreographer Ganesh Hegde for choreographing everyone’s dance movies for a perfect sangeet on November 21 which is just a day before her wedding.

    Ganesh Hegde confirmed the news saying, “The sangeet is not a professional thing for me. I am related to Shilpa. We are keeping this as personal as possible and haven’t involved any professional dancers. We’re planning something cute where all the family members pay tribute to each other. Raj’s younger brother is extremely enthusiastic about it. Raj’s family members will be coming down from London.”

    Commenting on the sangeet’s theme, Ganesh adds, “There’s no singular theme, but yes, we will explore and celebrate that Shilpa, who is from a South Indian (Bunt) family, is marrying Raj, who is a Punjabi. We’ll have a good mix of South Indian and Punjabi style dance and music.”

    About Shilpa and Raj’s special number, Ganesh says, “They will be dancing together on a lovely romantic number. We haven’t finalised the song yet but it will definitely be one of Shilpa’s own numbers. Apart from Shilpa’s own songs, there will be some high-tempo numbers too. The guests won’t dress in special costumes for their performances as they will anyway be dressed in their finery.”

    Is there a special bit about the ceremony that will be a surprise for the couple, we ask Ganesh. “Not really,” he says. “We all will be rehearsing together so planning a surprise will be difficult… Shilpa is aware and very much part of everything we have planned. We will start the rehearsals very soon.

Raj had proposed Shilpa this Diwali by gifting her a ring. Shilpa consulted her parents and in a hush-hush
everything was finalized. For her engagement ceremony Shilpa will be wearing a pink chiffon sari and a dull gold-colored blouse designed by Manish Malhotra, and jewellery designed by a store in Bandra.

It is unfortunate that Shilpa’s younger sister Shamita Shetty will not be able to attend the ceremony as she is locked up in the Big Boss’ house at present. The wedding will take place sometime in December after Shamita comes out of the house.

Shilpa Shetty Biography

With a dusky complexion and a height of 5 feet 10 inches, she entered bollywood with the superhit film “Baazigar”. Nobody could ever imagine that the Shilpa Shetty of the 90s would groom to become the hot sizzling and sensuous Shilpa of today. She has undoubtedly become a global name and probably has the most fantastic body in the film industry.

Born to Surendra and Sunanda Shetty, on June 8, 1975, Manya, as she is fondly called, always aspired to become a Bollywood heroine.she has a younger sibling Shamita who is also a Bollywood Actress. She attended St Anthony's Girl's convent in Chembur and then went to Podar College. Beside her native language Tulu, she speaks English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil and Urdu.
�She began as a ramp model and eventually started getting film offers. Shilpa did her first film “Baazigar” opposite Shahrukh Khan and unlike most of the other actresses, she got name and fame from her very 1st film!
