I believe in taking up criticism positively says John Abraham

john-abraham1[1]1

Actor John Abraham’s sexy abs may be getting him all the female attention, but his hot body is not exactly something that the Bollywood hunk considers as his USP.
Talking about his chiseled looks, Abraham says, “It definitely gets me the eyeballs, but I think that’s not all that earns me a fan following. I think I’m the underdog that everyone relates to. That’s my connection with my fans and also my strength.”
Explaining further, he adds, “My fans have seen me work my way up in the industry - from modelling to the big screen. I am not a star son nor did I have any Godfather. Nothing was offered to me on a platter. I have had my share of struggle and youngsters feel that if I could do it, so can they.”
However, Abraham is also quick to point out that he doesn’t resent the fact that he’s not born into a film family. “I don’t think they have it easy either. At the end of the day, you either deliver or you don’t and that has nothing to do with who you have to back you in this industry.”
He adds, “Today I respect all the success even more because it hasn’t come easy to me.” Is he referring to the initial days as an actor when he was being labeled as just-another-model-who-can’t-act? “Yes, that too. But I did not lose heart, I believe in taking up criticism positively and also as a challenge and try to work on it, rather than sulk about it,” he reveals.
His last release Jhootha Hi Sahi didn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing but Abraham is looking forward to his next - the high on action Kha Kha Kha.

“I’ll be kicking some serious butt in this,” smiles Abraham who will also be seen in the comedy Desi Boyz with Akshay Kumar and Dostana 2.

John wants to act in action movie

John_Abraham1

After the debacle of “Jhootha Hi Sahi”, Bollywood’s pin-up star John Abraham has decided to focus on mainstream roles. He is currently toning muscles for Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster “Kaakha Kaakha”.
With his last two films “Ashaayein” and “Jhootha Hi Sahi” not doing well, you would think John’s producers are in the process of a serious re-think. Far from being discouraged, the makers are in the process of enhancing the original material.
Director Nishikant Kamat remains unfazed by the performance of John’s films.
“My producer Vipul Shah and I signed John for the ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ remake because we saw him doing the action hero’s part to perfection. So far, no film has tapped that side of him. John will be performing some of the most dangerous stunts ever seen in our film,” he said.
John, 37, has right now halted the shooting of key action sequences in his first full-fledged action film. Apart from Bollywood’s best action director Allan Amin, he has also asked for an action team from South Africa to supervise his stunts.
Confirming this, Kamat said: “We’ll do the action scenes later. I cannot do those loud larger-than-life stunts sequences where the hero beats up 20 adversaries single-handedly.”
“The action in my film has to be in the more realistic yet hardcore commercial space.
It’s a challenge for both me and John. For me, commercial cinema is new. I’ve butterflies in my stomach every time I go on the sets,” he added.
A source close to John says it’s goodbye to experimental characters for the actor.
No more playing against personality for John. No more nerdy or dying characters. It’s muscles and beefcake all the way as the pinup boy acquires an adrenaline-pumping chest-thumping image for his next, said the source.

Bipasha completely loves my look: John Abraham

Bipasha1

John Abraham is probably one of the hottest looking hunks in Hindi Film Industry, but when Abbas Tyrewala the director of “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” cast John for his upcoming bollywood movie “Jhootha Hi Sahi” for a character who is geeky looking guy, everyone started talking about error in cast and media at some point of time even called Abbas Tyrewala someone who has taken the success of Jaane to his head and probably he himself doesn’t know anymore what he is up to.But proving everyone wrong, John and Abbas unveiled the new look of John Abraham, and just like us everybody was astonished as to what Abbas has done with the hunk. John is sporting an old bulky black framed spectacle, Abbas also trimmed his hairs without any spikes, no tight tees this time and a pair of trousers and full sleeves formals is all John have in the movie.

However, this new look has gone down really well with John’s girlfriend Bipasha Basu, we spoke with John and this is what he said - “When Bipasha saw my look in the film, she said that if there is any director who has managed to break me down physically and in terms of a character on screen, it’s Abbas,”. “She (Bipasha) completely loves my look. She said that this is the film I want to watch because it’s very unique, very fresh,” he added.

Katrina Kaif jumps to John Abraham

It was just weeks back that a Mumbai tabloid went on and on about an alleged clandestine relationship between Katrina Kaif and John Abraham while they were shooting their film together, New York.Though the talks now have died down what with both Kat and John vehemently denying any such thing having happened, it cant be denied that Katrina’s rapport with boyfriend Salman Khan has not exactly been great since then.Adding to her woes now is an offer from Dev D maker Anurag Kashyap to star in his next opposite John Abraham. It is learnt that the maverick film maker is making a series of movies about life in Mumbai and John is the only one who has been officially signed up so far.Anurag apparently has also sent the script across to Katrina who seems to have loved it. Sources close to her claim, it’s just the kind of film Kats would like to do at this point in time when she has just begun to make her mark as an actress. But she is still in two minds about signing up for the movie.
The primary reason is that she is not sure if she wants to be be paired opposite John Abraham again. Katrina is in no mood to handle the rumours that she is sure will resurface. .

John:New York will pick up every popular award

John Abraham, who plays an NRI Muslim in Kabir Khan's second directorial venture "New York", says the film begins where the critically acclaimed Pakistani movie "Khuda Kay Liye" ends."In its own strange way, 'New York' begins where 'Khuda Ke Liye' ended. That's the interesting part of the film, " John told here. Both films deal with the issue of how legal detainees were treated after the gruesome 9/11 attacks in the US.Some sequences in the promos of "New York", which will be released Friday, are reminiscent of scenes in "Khuda Kay Liye"."Each director has his own way of interpreting and researching the plight of legal detainees...that's why Kabir and the 'Khuda Kay Liye' director have different interpretations of it in their films, " John said."But if the legal detainees were put up in a particular way and interrogated in a certain way in reality - then that can't change. So there are certain things that are bound to look similar in both the films. But obviously stories, people and characters are completely different in 'New York', " he added.John was here Monday along with co-stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif and the director for the promotion of "New York", which is about post-9/11 prejudices in the US.Set in New York, the film's narrative is spread over nine years and revolves around three young friends whose lives take an unexpected turn after the terrorist attacks.John, who has teamed up with Khan for the second time after "Kabul Express", predicts that "New York" will pick up "every popular award in the book"."When we were shooting in Afghanistan for 'Kabul Express' and bullets were flying off our heads, I had told Kabir that you would get a National Award for this film. And he did get one (for best debut director). After watching 'New York', which is a very commercial film, I told Kabir that he will walk away with every popular award that exists, " said John. After having spent over half a decade in the film industry, the 36-year-old supermodel-turned-actor, who was seen in a completely different avatar in Oscar nominated "Water", says he is yet to achieve what he had set out for through his work.John's source of inspiration is late Hollywood actor Heath Ledger who got a posthumous Oscar for playing the Joker in "The Dark Knight"."When Heath Ledger's parents came up to collect the Oscar award on his behalf after his death, they said that Heath would be really happy because there was always this silent determination to be accepted by all of you as a fraternity."For me, there is a silent determination to be accepted by everyone in the audience as a complete person and also a complete actor. I believe with the kind of roles and films that I have done, I have probably reached 70-80 percent of what I had to. But the rest of crucial 30 percent is very important."Now John hopes to do something "radically different that it affects and alters people's mind positively".After "New York", which is produced by Yash Raj Films, John will be seen in David Dhawan's comic affair "Hook Ya Crook", Nagesh Kukunoor's "Aashayein" and Abbas Tyrewala's "1-800-Love". .

John Abraham, the Skywalker!

In a scene for Yash Raj Films’ forthcoming film, New York, John Abraham told Kabir Khan (director) to re-shoot a stunt involving John Braham Kabir had shot the scene with a stuntman and John had second thoughts. The stunt in question involved John rappelling down a 40-floor skyscraper. Our source said, “John told Kabir that he found that scene spectacular and hence he himself should do it. Obviously, he imagined himself in certain smashing close-ups. Kabir was shocked when John told him about his idea. He asked John if he was sure that he would be able to pull it off. John told him that he would like to take the necessary training. He trained with a few stuntmen for two days.”Our source added, “Kabir’s heart was in his mouth when he actually did it. John was coming down between two skyscrapers and the wind between two high rise buildings is always very cutting. People with the toughest drive and enthusiasm can be blown away. Even if you are wearing protective gear, which John was wearing, it could prove fatal if the rope snapped or he lost his sense of direction.”John’s enthusiasm was well worth it - as the scenes turned out spectacular. Kabir Khan said, “John pulled off that scene marvelously. It required real guts.” .
